Jane’s Walk

Jane’s Walk is a series of free neighbourhood walking tours that helps put people in touch with their environment and with each other, by bridging social and geographic gaps and creating a space for cities to discover themselves.

Since its inception in 2007, Jane’s Walk has happened in cities across North America, and is quickly expanding internationally. In 2012 we had walks in 85 cities and 17 countries around the world.

Jane’s Walk honours the legacy and ideas of urban activist and writer Jane Jacobs who championed the interests of local residents and pedestrians over a car‐centered approach to planning. The main Jane’s Walk event takes place annually on the first weekend of May, to coincide with Jane Jacobs’ birthday.

With 11 walks planned, you can find out more [here](http://janeswalk.org/index.php/singapore/singapore/walks)

All Jane’s Walk tours free and open to everyone. For more info / registration, click [here](http://janeswalk.org)

Gary is one of those proverbial jack of all trades… you know the rest. When not writing about lifestyle and culture, he dabbles in photography, graphic design, plays four instruments and is a professional wearer of bowties. His greatest weakness: spending more money on clothes than he probably should. Find him across the social world as @grimlay
