Kok Sen Restaurant

‘Zi Char’ (home-cooked à la carte Chinese dishes) is as ingrained in Singaporean culture as Bak Kut Teh or Chilli Crab, and we can safely say that the Kok Sen Restaurant has been around at Keong Saik Road for far longer than any of the establishments we’ve mentioned so far. Serving up traditional Cantonese-style cuisine for decades, this rustic eatery is considered one of Singapore’s best. Take note, they are famous for their legendary Yong Tau Foo, Bittergourd Pork Ribs and Prawn Hor Fun; these get sold out extremely fast each day so you’ll want to head there early!

When Joel’s not partaking in one of his shameless eating sessions, he likes to think of himself as a sponge – absorbing the mysteries and beauty of our world – be it through a good book or a wacky jaunt in a foreign country.
