Nine Years Theatre Presents: Red Demon

Nine Years Theatre begins 2016 with a captivating and relatable masterpiece, Red Demon – an internationally acclaimed play by Japanese playwright Noda Hideki, on the search of human psyche. Following the story of an outsider’s arrival on an insulated island community, Red Demon explores on a universal theme of xenophobia; revealing the conflict between humanity, fear and suspicion in a closed community through exceptional ingenuity and sly humor.

This production is adapted and directed by Nelson Chia, NYT’s Artistic Director and consecutive 2-year winner for ‘Best Director’ award (2014 and 2015 Life! Theatre Awards).

Red Demon features NYT Ensemble Project members, Mia Chee, Hang Qian Chou, Tay Kong Hui and Timothy Wan. The creative team comprises of Set Designer Wong Chee Wai, Lighting Designer Dorothy Png, Costume Designer Audrey Tang, Sound Designer Chong Li-Chuan and Photography and Graphic Designer Ryan Loi.

Nine Years Theatre Presents: Red Demon is happening from 3 March to 13 March 2016 at Drama Centre Black Box @ National Library Building. Show times are Tue to Sat: 8pm, Sat & Sun: 3pm. Tickets are priced at $38, available from SISTIC.
