Remembering Nepal: Photography Exhibition and Fundraiser

Nepal

19 MAR 2016 | Come and enjoy an afternoon of great music (courtesy of BeatNaut Automata) and craft beer in support of the Nepal relief effort. The event will also give you the chance to view and purchase images from award winning photographer, Andrzej Wiśniewski, from his Nepal trip, taking you on a visual trek to the Himalayas, the Tibetan new year’s festival Losar, the streets of Kathmandu and the circle around the enchanting Boudhanath stupa.

It’s almost a year since the disaster struck. On April 25 the earthquake of 7.8 magnitude killed 9.000 people. Then the 7.3 magnitude aftershock on May 12 wiped out whatever was left standing. An unimaginable disaster for Nepal – a place we visited only just 2 months before the first earthquake. Sites we walked through turned into rubble. Half a million people were displaced from their homes. Barely functioning infrastructure was completely destroyed. There are photographs to tell these stories, and we would like you to see them.

Remembering Nepal is happening on Saturday, 19 March 2016 at Kiosk. For more details, check out the event page here.
