Territories of Peace

Contemporary Spanish fine art gallery Barnadas Huang immerses its visitors in a meditative and solitary space in its summer exhibition, which features two of the fastest emerging artists in Spain: Rafael Romero and Miguel Ponticu.

In its upcoming exhibition, ìTerritories of Peaceî, steel sculptures of trees and marine life by Ponticu are juxtaposed against Romeroís naive and dreamlike landscapes. Together, both evoke a sense of adventure, serenity, aspiration and memories that emotionally transports the viewer to a playground of their childhood.

The exhibition was painstakingly conceptualised by gallery director Weiren Loh and Rachel Chin, the resident art consultant of Barnadas Huang. Making use of the ample natural light that floods the gallery, and the abundant greenery that lines Dempsey Road, they envisioned a setting that would meld seamlessly with the outdoors to create an atmosphere of introspection and contemplation.

The exhibition opens on 14 June 2014, with a private preview the night before for local collectors and VIP guests.
