This week, look forward to a flurry of delicious celebrations in Singapore’s F&B scene. Escape to 1-Altitude on Sundays, where their Communal Bubbles and BBQ menu (S$150++ per pax) with options like Smoked eel with charred asparagus,  Australian Wagyu beef cheek with roasted broccolini and red wine glaze, and floral infused marshmallow with kafir lime leaf curd takes place above the tranquil CBD. If you prefer to go a la carte with the food, a three-hour boozy package that includes Perrier-Jouet Champagne, two special weekend cocktails, house pour wines is priced at S$130++.

RVLT Revolutionises Food Again With A New Menu

Creativity and fun go hand-in-hand at gastro wine bar RVLT, especially with their revolutionary take on bar food. Featuring both European and Asian techniques in their new menu, highlights include the wild spanner crab with dashi crystal bread and caviar (S$36) and the air dried beef tartare (S$30) with ginger-scallion chimichurri and rice wine dressing. If you ever had a love affair with McDonald’s, try their cheekily named Chicken NcNuggets (S$20, six pieces) with fermented sriracha. There are also vegan and vegetarian additions, like the velvety braised leeks with potato-leek veloute, buah keluak coulis and pine nuts (S$28).

A Study in Dialect Flavours at Min Jiang at Dempsey

Food speaks a thousand words – and four dialects at Min Jiang at Dempsey. In celebration of Goodwood Park Hotel’s 120th anniversary, Master Chef Goh Chee Kong’s Renditions of Local Dialect Favourites contain a contemporary twist. Sample Cantonese dim sum Steamed Quail Eggs ‘Siew Mai’ in Truffle Oil (S$7.80, four pieces) before going knee-deep in flavour with the traditional Hokkien Braised Pork Belly (S$36). Their striking ensemble also includes Hakka-style dishes and Teochew desserts.

Pinkies Up at Janice Wong’s New Versailles-inspired High-tea Sessions

Singapore makes the international stage once again, and this time, it’s thanks to award-winning pastry chef Janice Wong, who took part in the feature documentary Ottolenghi and the Cakes of Versailles. Inspired by the gorgeous creations in the film, The Cake of Versailles high tea (S$45++ per pax) was born. Available till 1 November 2020, expect the likes of Prosecco raspberry jelly, strawberry champagne cake, and Janice’s Chestnut Quince Cake with Lemon Curd, Chantilly and Chocolate Chestnut Mousse.

Grissini Returns with Refreshed Dining Experience

Watching chefs at work is enjoyable – sometimes hypnotising, even. Waterfront Italian powerhouse Grissini has reopened, ready to show off their culinary chops in the live kitchen. Handmade pastas aside, check out their Livornese-style seafood pot cacciucco alla livornese (S$38) and Josper-grilled premium meats including an exquisitely marbled tomahawk steak (S$188 per kg). For dessert, look no further than the indulgent 64% chocolate mousse in chocolate sphere ($26 for two).
