Sit in On Stories by Singapore’s Migrants
Support the Singapore community alongside Migrant Writers of SG – a group dedicated to migrants and literature lovers. Their Open Borders event brings Singapore’s migrants together to share stories about their life experiences. Connect with people both like and unlike you through storytelling.
Open Borders will take place online on 21 February from 3pm – 4pm.
Appreciate Street Art Brimming with Nostalgia
Fans of the Singapore street art scene, visit the Art Porters Gallery to see Yip Yew Chong’s first solo exhibition. Not only has the Singaporean artist put up district commissioned work all over Chinatown, he has now compiled his locally-inspired works into a series of 9 artworks and painted objects. Something, Somewhere, Somewhen is a trip down memory lane, in and around Singapore life.
Something, Somewhere, Somewhen is located at the Art Porters Gallery, 64 Spottiswoode Park Rd, Singapore 088652. The exhibition will end on 14 March. Open daily from 10.30am – 7pm. Mondays by appointment only. Admission is free.
Journey Through the Natural World
A blend of East and West, the exhibition, A Voyage of Love and Longing, paints a romanticist’s view of the natural world. The exhibition couples illustrations from the William Farquhar Collection of Natural History with works from the 19th century Malay Archipelago. Featuring Malaysian classical texts and lyrical love ballads, this vibrantly coloured exhibition will help you rediscover the region.
A Voyage of Love and Longing at the Goh Seng Choo Gallery, National Museum of Singapore, 93 Stamford Rd, Singapore 178897. The exhibition will end on 28 February. Open daily from 10am – 7pm.
A Floral Celebration of the New Year
In the spirit of CNY, celebrate an ox-picious new year at Dahlia Dreams, Gardens By the Bay. The annual Flower Dome honours the Year of the Ox with a display of more than 1,400 decorative dahlias, as well as other varieties of flora and fauna. As you walk through a field of red and yellow flowers, swing by the Lantern Globe display, adorned with 200 beautifully glowing lanterns.
Dahlia Dreams is located at the Flower Dome, Gardens By the Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore 018953. This display ends on 21 February. Open daily from 9am – 9pm. Buy tickets here.
Explore Love Through An Immersive Exhibition
Whether with a friend, family, or significant other, stop by the All Walks of Love at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. This interactive experience lets you journey through love in all kinds of forms – from adolescence to adulthood. Relive some of your fondest memories of love, and look forward to more to come.
All Walks of Love is located at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, 1 Straits Boulevard, Singapore 018906. The exhibition will end 28 February. Open from 10am – 8pm, per hour entry, last entry at 7pm. Buy tickets here.
