5 Things To Do This Week in Singapore: 29 January to 4 February 2018

This week in Singapore, there’s a lot going on in the music scene with the DJ performance of Eric Volta and the legendary techno tracks of Dj Sven Väth. Comedy Masala ft. Turner Sparks (USA)

Catch your breath in the middle of a hectic work week with a good laugh – international performer Turner Sparks will be popping in Hero’s in Boat Quay for a one-night only stint. The founder of Mainland China’s first stand up comedy group and the first full-time comedy club (Kung Fu Komedy Club), Tuner has it all: razor sharp punch lines, quick wit, and a global perspective. Platform Series: Journeys

A double-bill featuring two solo shows by upcoming and promising artistes, Erwin Shah and Kimberly Chan, the first – Kulit on the Go – unveils the heart and art in leather crafting. A collaborative work by Erwin and director Richard Tan, the 20 minute monologue chronicles an artisan’s attempt to redefine luxury goods by travelling to his customers to produce custom made items. The second, In Her Shoes, is directed by the award-winning Samantha Scott-Blackball, and will see Kimberly Chan exploring the trauma and jubilations of love in a sole-baring journey that’s embodied by several pairs of shoes.

Soulfeed Presents Sven Väth with Ferng

Techno legend Sven Väth returns to Singapore to play at Zouk. A golden oldie with 37 years of experience and one of the founding fathers of the techno scene in Germany, Papa Väth is still playing innovative techno like a madman. With Singapore Dj Ferng warming up the decks and getting you in the right mood for the Don, you’re all set for a fantastic Saturday night out.

Eric Volta: All Night Long

Black Out Singapore is bringing in London-born, Berlin-based Eric Volta, who impressed an international audience with a great sunrise set last year at Wonderfruit Festival. There’s no warm-up DJ so Mr. Volta is set to play all night long at the rooftop carpark venue of The Great Escape, and party-goers can expect to go on a cosmic and psychedelic musical journey. The best part? Entrance is free and drinks are affordable!
