Reebonz: Who wants discounted designer handbags? I do, I do!!!!

Reebonz

Ladies, a word.

I think we’re all in agreement that the purpose of a handbag goes waaaay beyond a utensil for carrying the essentials. I mean sure, a girl needs her purse, phone, lip gloss, keys, breath mints (it’s only right to be minty fresh!) a few other bits and bobs, and a handbag saves the day. But is that really all our handbag means to us? ….I’m thinking no. I reckon we would all agree that our handbags are an extension of us and the perfect way to convey our personality, or perhaps just our mood for the day.

A studded Alexander Wang says urban, feisty, fashion, cool. A Chanel purrs ‘I’m a lady’, a tie-dyed shoulder bag suggests artsy, creative, ‘chick-peas and quinoa’ and a Hello Kitty rucksack says “I’m 12, and if I’m not 12… what on earth?”

Whether you appreciate designer handbags for their quality and durability or you’re happy to admit that you want to turn heads and make your counterparts swoon at your designer arm-candy, it is hard to deny the allure. I am terrible, I must confess. I covet designer handbags, have a running list of ‘wants’  and am awful at proudly announcing to admiring glances, ‘ummhmmm, it’s Alexander McQueen’. What can I say, I’m shallow, fickle and I like fancy things!

So imagine my delight to discover Reebonz – an online members store that hosts private sales events and their physical store, Reebonz SPACE- that sells almost every designer handbag you could imagine, all housed rather conveniently for handbag addicts under one roof!

First of all, allow me to set the scene. I won’t lie, the location seems totally random. It’s on the 7th floor of the Clifford Centre at Raffles Place, which looks like an office. You’ll think you’re in the wrong place…you’re not, keep going! On reaching the 7th floor, again, you will doubt where on earth I am sending you….but the lure of Chloe, Prada and Chanel will quieten the doubts! When you reach the door and step, somewhat hesitantly inside, this will greet you……

I’m sorry, is that not the most heavenly thing you have EVER seen?!

Reebonz SPACE is Reebonz’s retail lounge, a sleek, luxe, expansive, space which holds hundreds, possibly thousands of the most-coveted, lust-worthy designer bags. It is open to the public, no appointment is necessary and I think really important to mention here, no pushiness, no hovering at your shoulder, you are free to take it all in at your own pleasure, with assistance close by but not overbearingly. You would be forgiven for thinking that for a destination store, there might be an element of ‘now you’re here, you really ought to buy something’ but I am happy to say, that is not the case. It all makes for a hugely enjoyable and fun shopping experience, tinged with a real feeling of exclusivity.

Wandering around, feeling like a kid in a candy store, I managed to resist the urge to stuff Miu Miu down my dress, and instead selected some top picks!

The Burberry Bridle Studs Canterbury Leather Tote makes me feel a bit giddy…..

…Miu Miu treats….

Salmon Pink Proenza Schouler? – yes please!

If you are more inclined to online shopping, Reebonz’s vast selection is easily accessible at www.reebonz.com.sg. Registration to Reebonz is free and their sales events feature both women’s and men’s brands, albeit with a larger focus on women’s products, but with plans to extend their men’s collections imminently. Members enjoy huge discounts of up to 70% on a wide range of high-quality branded products, with no hidden customs or delivery charges, plus multiple payment options such as instalment payment plans, bank transfer or credit/debit cards.

Now I’m not saying that these are everyday treats (unless you’re making it rain money!) Buying a designer handbag for me is a special indulgence, when I’ve been exceedingly good and can convince myself that the happiness quota it brings me, totally justifies the expense! But with Reebonz making designer that touch more affordable; aspirational glamour is but a card swipe, hair swoosh and proud bag moment away!
