Singapore’s most accessible nature trail, the Rail Corridor, is a 24km route stretching from Woodlands Checkpoint to Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. This guided hike will take you through the south leg of that trail, a leisurely 15km walk from Beauty World MRT station to Seah Im Food Centre at Harbourfront. Adventure through Singapore’s green spaces, through forest growth, streams, grasslands and even small farms. Get to know your city anew.

The Rail Corridor Walk will take place 14 February, 2pm – 6pm. Tickets are S$10 per pax.

Contemplate Your Perception of Photography with Progressive Disintegrations

If you haven’t caught Progressive Disintegrations, this week is your last chance. This exhibition of mixed-media works by artists Chua Chye Teck, Hilmi Johandi and Wei Leng Tay prompts thinking on how we think about who and what we live with, and how we perceive images. How can we re-examine photographs through transformations, fragmentation and remaking?

Progressive Disintegrations is located at Chapel Gallery, Objectifs, 155 Middle Rd, Singapore 188977. The exhibition will end on 10 February. Open Tue – Sat, 12pm – 7pm, and Sun, 12pm – 4pm. Closed Mon. Admission is free.

Contemplate Politics with The Return

For the politically active, this film (that premiered at the 2015 Venice International Film Critics’ Week) will interest you with its locally relevant themes. The Return is a movie about Wen, a political detainee who is released after many years of imprisonment without trial. Now an old man, he has an uneasy reunion with his children and complex feelings about the transformation his country has made in the time he was away. Past and present collide to force his journey to take a tragic turn. Watch the screening and participate in a Q&A session with the director.

The Return Screening and Q&A will take place on 10 February, 7pm – 9pm at the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art, Block 43 Malan Road, Gillman Barracks, Singapore 109443. Book a spot here. Admission is free.
