5 Things To Do This Week in Singapore: 5th to 11th February 2018

This week in Singapore, break the sound barrier with the spectacular annual Singapore Airshow, or you know, with the dirty and naughty jokes by veteran comedian Kumar. If you’re into photography, check out Objectifs’ new photo exhibition, or perhaps, free your mind at yoga festival Soulfest and on the dance floor of the latest Ritual party!

Kumar for Beyond

The one and only drag queen-comedian Kumar fights for the greater cause this Thursday with aa special one-night-only fundraiser for the less fortunate. Expect his usual flair and comedy as Kumar addresses the many social disadvantages these people have to cope with and tells stories about inspiring young people trying to accomplish a better living. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Beyond Social Services, and you even get two free drinks too!

See Kumar and do good at the same time on Thursday, 8 February 2018 at Zouk, 8pm – 10pm. Tickets are priced at $100, available here. For more details, check out the event page here.

Passing Time: Opening & Artist Talk

Passing Time is a solo exhibition of old photographic work by Lui Hock Seng, a former car mechanic who’s accumulated a very impressive portfolio from the 1950s until now. His focus? Capturing daily life in the 60s and 70s and giving an interesting perspective on Singapore’s bygone era with autodidact techniques – a style of darkroom photography that involves manipulating the photos. In conjunction with the exhibition launch, don’t miss an exclusive workshop by street photographer Deanna Ng on the opening day.

Visit Passing Time‘s opening on 10 February 2018 at Objectifs, 12am – 7pm. Admission to the exhibition is free, while the photography workshop is priced at $45. Passing Time will run from 8 February to 11 March 2018.
