Keong Saik Road‘s much loved modern izakaya Neon Pigeon will be running its final service on Saturday, 11 July 2020, as the lease of their iconic location on Keong Saik Road ended during Singapore’s Circuit Breaker period. If you count yourself amongst those that’ll miss their delicious grub and cool cocktails (plus the countless laybacks of sake) – don’t worry, it’s not a goodbye with finality.
“This is not farewell, but rather a ‘see you on the other side’, as we work on a new iteration of Neon Pigeon 2.0 that we will introduce when the time is right,” said Rohit Roopchand, Co-Founder of The Dandy Collection. Opened in 2015, the popular social locale was the hospitality group’s successful first venture, which paved the way for the group’s next two venues – contemporary kebab joint Fat Prince in Tanjong Pagar and Mediterranean-inspired Summerlong in Robertson Quay.
Upon closing this chapter on Keong Saik Road, a pop-up restaurant is in the works for the group and they’ve also launched the Neon Pigeon House Party. Priced at $98++ per person (minimum six to order), this bundle brings the great vibes you know them for into the comfort and safety of your home. Look forward to all-star dishes like the Tokyo Hummus and Baby Back Pork Ribs, along with plenty of booze.
What’s more, in the true spirit of collaboration, Neon Pigeon will be selling signature brews by Heart of Darkness – think Futile Purpose Cucumber Pilsner and Loose Rivet New England IPA – from 1 to 11 July 2020. The incoming Vietnamese craft brewery opened its first overseas taproom in Singapore a year ago; they’ve shut the Tras Street bar yesterday and will open its doors again to the public in the place of Neon Pigeon on Keong Saik Road in August 2020.
