In case you missed it, entertainment venues in Singapore had to shut their doors from 27 March in an attempt to curb the local spread of Covid-19. Besides nightclubs, theatres, and karaoke outlets, this move involved some of our favourite bars in the city too. **Update (3 April 2020): From 7 April to 4 May 2020, all F&B establishments in Singapore can open only for takeaway and/or delivery. No dine-in services are allowed.
**Update (21 April 2020): The circuit breaker has been extended till 1 June 2020.

The Secret Mermaid
One of the main reasons for visits to Ocean Financial Centre, The Secret Mermaid has not only launched six tipples for takeaway and delivery at an affordable price of S$20+ each (serves two), they’re even taking requests for bespoke cocktails. Aside from signatures like the Applewood Negroni and Devil in the Details (think dragonfruit infused rum, lime, and lavender bitters), they also have stay-home bundles complemented by bottles of wines, spirits, and craft beer starting from $48. A two-hour notice is required for same day order and delivery.

Shin Gi Tai
Shin Gi Tai might have had to close its doors, but its team of bartenders are hard at work bottling a wide variety of cocktails for takeaway and delivery. In 300ml and 500ml formats, you’ll find their signature Negroni (S$80, S$130) and other classics, but we like the sound of the cognac-and-calvados Yakuza Bad Boy (S$95, S$165), inspired by founder Anthony Zhong’s days in Ginza. The best part? You can even order large blocks of clear ice (S$1 each)for a better cocktail experience at home.

The Single Cask
You’ll find their exceptional whisky by the bottle on their website. What’s more, the bar’s cocktail guru Chee Wei De has gone into partnership with a friend to create The Beverage Times.
Under this new label, they’ve curated a menu of sustainable cocktails that are created to be close looped (where byproducts are given a new lease of life). Four cocktails are currently available in three formats – 90ml, 500ml, and 750ml – and start from S$22.
We’d love to try the stiff Bitter Mornings, twist on the Negroni with spent coffee ground infused sweet vermouth, and the refreshingly fizzy Keep Rootin’ with spiced-spent ginger cordial. See menu here.
Available via: The Single Cask’s website and email [email protected]
The Single Cask is located at 30 Victoria Street, Caldwell House, CHIJMES, #01-25, Singapore 187996, p. +65 6837 0953.
Tess Bar & Kitchen
Seah Street stomping ground Tess Bar & Kitchen has six bottled cocktails, as well as a small selection of beer and wine, for delivery and takeaway. Priced at S$21 each consisting of two serves, flavours range from light and fruity – think Lychee Grapefruit or Honey Umeshu – to robust flavours borrowed from brunch like the Salted Caramel Espresso and the Earl Grey Negroni. Hungry? They’ve got plenty in the comfort food department at affordable prices too, like the mushroom-topped Truffle Brown Rice Risotto (S$11) and Grilled Angus Ribeye Steak (S$18, 250g).
