This week sees an Asian-focused cocktail pop-up at Ann Siang, a 24-hour-long champagne party, an afternoon tea inspired by Japan’s most famous female artist, and more!

Taking place this Friday behind a red door right off Ann Siang Road, walk up onto the cosy attic space that is Chopsuey Cafe’s pop-up bar concept, POPSUEY, backed by DJ Sivanesh fromCÉ LA VI. There, a creatively curated beverage menu promises a collision of East meets West flavours, from fine wines and cocktails to elixirs served on the rocks (think the Energy with espresso, coconut sugar, cacao, and cayenne pepper or the Detox with beetroot, celery, apples, and parsley). Dim sum and other small plates also take centre stage, with the likes of Chargrilled Octopus with chilli lime dip and the juiciest Suckling Pig Sliders with mantou buns!

Singapore’s First Ever Moët Party Day

On Saturday, the iconic Champagne house Moët & Chandon will take over Singapore’s favourite bars, rooftops, beach clubs, restaurants and night clubs island-wide for the Moët Party Day as part of a run that spans 80 countries. From midnight on Friday until late the next day, the 24-hour bubbly party will take place over 40 venues – starting with 1-Altitude, Attica, Baliza, Empire, New Asia Bar, and FClub before heading down to a series of buzzing pool parties from W Singapore Sentosa Cove to Wavehouse and Mambo Beach Club the next day – as you cool off with soulful house music and refreshing Moët Ice Impérial on the rocks.

Kühlbarra x Unlisted Collection Barramundi Fiesta

Did you know that few farmed fishes around the world have an environmental impact as low as barramundi? The de facto national fish of Australia, which Kühlbarra farms just off the Southern coast of Singapore, will be available at four restaurants under the Unlisted Collection from now till 31 August. At Pollen, Chef Steve Allen has whipped up the intricately-plated Cured Barramundi, Watermelon, and Avocado, available in a three- ($55) or five-course set lunch ($85). Over at Salted & Hung, Chef Drew Nocente presents the rich Barramundi, Clams, Prawn Stock, and Kelp Oil ($36), while Cheek by Jowl and The Market Grill sees the Barramundi, Charred Lettuce, Prawn Floss, and Onion ($34) and Grilled Barramundi with Hearty Tomato Chickpea Compote ($36) respectively.

Yayoi Kusama-inspired Afternoon Tea at The Fullerton Hotel

As the National Gallery Singapore launches Southeast Asia’s first major Yayoi Kusama exhibition, The Fullerton Hotel has created its own special afternoon tea in tribute to the legendary artist. At $43++ per person, be treated to the hotel’s full three-tier tea experience, along with five exquisite creations that draw inspiration from the Japanese artist’s works, including her signature pumpkins, polka dots, and pieces from Kusama’s My Eternal Soul series. Think cubes of lychee mousse flecked with dots, a Breton sablé topped with gelatinous dots and hazelnut cream, and a soft-as-cotton strawberry shortcake sandwiched between printed cocoa butter, courtesy of Executive Pastry Chef Enrico Pezzelato.

Maguro Donya Whips Up Five New Dishes

Think of tuna speciality restaurants in Singapore and Maguro Donya, the concept by renowned maguro wholesaler Misaki Megumi Suisan, surely pops up on that list. June sees five new additions, including the glorious Five-Cut Blue Fin Tuna Sashimi ($52) with delicate semi-frozen toumi (the head of the fish), otoro, chutoro, kamatoro, and lean hon akami. Continue the indulgence with the beautifully-marbled Otoro Don Set ($40), Maguro Rare Katsu ($36) – breaded juicy chutoro deep-fried to an enticing crisp – and the Megumi Special Set ($49), showcasing a medium-rare chutoro steak, grilled bluefin maguro collar, and big eye maguro that’s large enough for two persons!
