The Weekly Grub: 5 Things to Eat and Drink in Singapore this week

This week, we have quite the spread of both food and drink! Besides tangling with hairy crabs and hopping on the gluten-free bandwagon, there’s Islay whisky and tea cocktails from Taipei to leave you quite satisfied. Otherwise, you could always learn to make your own drinks this weekend at a local speakeasy.

Port Charlotte 10: Bruichladdich newest single malt whisky from Islay, Scotland

If a heavily peated whisky from the Hebridean Islands is your idea of a perfect nightcap,  Bruichladdich has launched the highly anticipated Port Charlotte 10 ($139). Matured in a combination of first fill ex-bourbon casks (65%), second fill bourbon casks (10%), and second fill French wine casks from Bordeaux (25%), the rich, golden hue liquid is earthy, floral, and oaky on the nose. For a 50% ABV whisky, the alcohol, smoke, and peat are well-integrated and balanced with a honey sweetness, dried tropical fruits, and a slight saline tang. Definitely one for when your palate needs some kind of excitement.

Port Charlotte 10 is available at 1855 and La Maison du Whisky till the end of 2018.
