Singapore Writers Festival 2018: 界 / jiè

The mainstay event of Singapore’s literary scene is back! This year’s theme is all about wider universe and the boundaries that exist, defining communities and perspectives. Select from 310 programmes and engage with over 390 writers and speakers hailing from everywhere across the globe. Look out for local and international writers including the likes of Kiran Desai (India/US) and Andreas Norman (Sweden).

Bras Basah. Bugis Arts Sprawl

Here’s something for the whole family. The Bras Basah.Bugis Arts Sprawl opens with an eclectic line-up of arts and heritage offerings suitable for all ages. Browse local craft at the lifestyle market, enjoy music performances, and get a haircut or even a temporary tattoo. Looking for something more? The charcoal sketching workshop and outdoor mural are perfect opportunities to get creative.

Bras Basah. Bugis Art Sprawl will be happening on 9 and 10 November 2018 from 5pm – 11pm outside The Cathay. Admission is free.

V Social Night

It’s World Vegan Month and V Social Night is the one time to celebrate it. Socialise with fellow passionate vegans over food and drinks from Well Dressed Salad Bar & Cafe (WDSB) and Highball Singapore. Nod along to live music acts or check out craft goodies at the marketplace – we could go on but why not see for yourself? Expect a great time with plenty to do and even more to talk about in this first-of-its-kind event.  

V Social Night will be happening on Saturday, 10 November 2018 from 5pm – late at Highball Singapore. Admission is free.

BINYL Music Fair

After a successful run earlier this year, BINYL is back with another diverse range of vinyl records, CDs, and other music-related paraphernalia for music lovers and collectors alike. Hosted by White Label Records, the music fair will take place at their newly-opened concept store located along Ann Siang Road. It’s a setup with a handpicked list of ten collector-turned-vendors selling records from their personal music collection. 

BINYL Music Fair will be happening on Saturday, 10 November 2018 from 10am – 8pm at White Label Records. Admission is free.

Soulfeed Presents Jeff Mills with Blackhall & Bookless

Calling all techno-heads: the forefather of Detroit’s techno scene, Jeff Mills a.k.a “The Wizard” is in Singapore to perform some mind-blowing sets this Saturday night. With a widely-lauded career that extends beyond the realm of music into art and film, Mills will be showcasing a fusion of improvisational visual displays along with raw sound – all inspired by intellectual themes of Cosmic Space and Sci-Fi.

Jeff Mills with Blackhall & Bookless will be happening on Saturday, 10 November 2018 from 10pm – 4am at Zouk Singapore. Admission at $35 (ladies) and $45 (men).
