The Weekly Grub: 5 Things To Eat And Drink In Singapore This Week

This week’s grub is rich in local culture, with a new kopitiam experience (what’s more Singaporean?) from Keisuke Group, local-inspired beers from Brewerkz and tickets for a unique reunion dinner from Straits Clan up for grabs. In addition, grab Creamier’s new flavours and visit The Macallan Experience, newly extended till May.

Grill Up a Feast with Chicken Yakiniku Tori Yaro

The versatile Keisuke Group has just launched its newest independent concept, Chicken Yakiniku Tori Yaro, departing from its usual style and launching as a coffeeshop stall. Honouring Singapore hawker culture’s recent recognition by UNESCO, this stall is located in a humble kopitiam along Lorong 29 in Geylang. Be ready to grill up a wide selection of affordable chicken cuts to your liking, and try their 16 sauces available for dipping. A plate of meat is priced from just S$3.90.

Chicken Yakiniku Tori Yaro is now open, and located at 2 Lorong 29 Geylang, Yinchuan Building, Stall No. 3.

A Reunion Like No Other at The Banquet

Chef Damien D’Silva of Kin is spearheading a reunion dinner like no other, for one night only at the highly-lauded Straits Clan. Showcasing 15 different dishes like rojak-inspired Lo Hei, meaty and heady Hati Babi Bungkus and 48-hour slow-braised Itek Sioh, you won’t find a meal like this anywhere else. They’re also hosting a Red Packet Raffle for the night – guests have the chance to walk away with prizes like cash vouchers and premium champagnes.

The Banquet at Straits Clan will take place 20 February, 6.30pm – 10.30pm at Kin, 31 Bukit Pasoh Rd, Singapore 089845. Tickets are S$208++ per person, available in tables of six and eight. Get tickets here.

Pick Up Brewerkz’s Island-Inspired Beers on Sentosa

Brewerkz has launched Islander Brew, a series of four beers named after Sentosa’s landmarks, in partnership with Sentosa Development Corporation. Each of their flavours is inspired by an edible plant found in Sentosa – Fort Siloso (chocolate-vanilla Porter), Tanjong Rimau (yuzu nutmeg Witbier), Bukit Manis (jasmine Kolsch), and Siloso Beach (lime sea salt Gose). These beers are also carbon-neutral as part of SDC’s decarbonisation plan for Sentosa and Brewerkz’s aspirations to create more sustainable products. Available now at select F&B and retail outlets in Sentosa as well as online.

Try Creamier’s Spring-Inspired New Sorbet Flavours

Celebrate spring flavours and colours with Creamier, who are launching two new refreshing sorbet flavours and bringing back a crowd favourite at all their outlets. Their new Honey Kumquat Sorbet is packed with nutrients and balances sweet and sour perfectly, and their new Watermelon with Soju Sorbet turns their favourite party cocktail into a sweet, refreshing treat. They’re also bringing back their wildly popular Thai Milk Tea flavour, inspired by the famous Thai drink.
