Outdoor Gyms, Fitness Classes, and Workouts In Singapore

In light of Phase 2 restrictions on indoor workouts and gyms, you’re probably thinking: where do I go to get my daily workouts now? Lucky for us, some gyms and studios have reacted quickly, moving classes and workouts outdoors to cater to our needs.

Crossfit

Mobilus

With locations in both Chinatown and Clarke Quay, Mobilus is the largest crossfit centre in Singapore, offering programs like MobStrong, for strength-building, and MobBasics for crossfit beginners. Now, Mobilus is moving outdoors, with options to choose between MobFit, their holistic strength and conditioning program or MobEngine, a combination of biking, rowing and skiing exercises. Drop-in (S$41) to the session to get a feel of what you like, or signup for their monthly packages (S$350-S$410).

Crossfit Urban Edge

Inspired by the improvements crossfit has made on physical and mental well-being, founder Jeff Lin created Crossfit Urban Edge, which focuses on carving out crossfit as a personal space. Their programs range from an Urban Foundation course for basics in crossfit, to Urban WOD, a workout-of-the-day concentrating on getting the blood pumping. Their Urban Bootcamp program is an intensive HIIT program using medium-impact, high-intensity bodyweight and strength movements. The Urban Bootcamp is available for one-month drop-in sessions (S$280) or for an Urban Bootcamp-only fee (S$150 per month).

Yoga

UFIT Singapore

UFIT prides itself on offering fitness services that build and improve, or relax and recover your body. They offer many outdoor classes, including personal training and HIIT. But their outdoor yoga classes are a new Phase 2 alternative to your daily stretching sessions, with the benefit of being surrounded by wondrous views of nature. Build up your strength, endurance, and flexibility at their Botanic Garden yoga sessions. First sessions are free, and you can choose to buy a monthly membership pack (S$321/month) later on.

Sweatbox Yoga

Sweatbox Yoga has classes for beginner, intermediate or advanced practitioners. Try their number of hot yoga classes that really turn up the heat, helping to strengthen, cleanse and detoxify your body, or go for a Hatha Basics yoga class that’ll ease you into the practice of yoga. For an easy yoga class for de-stressing, the Vinyasa Flow uses movement and breath to create a soothing flow of yoga practice. As of 9 May, all these classes and more, are available outdoors at Sweatbox’s Tras location. Classes are priced at S$150 for a block of five.

TFX

Voted the best Asian fitness brand of 2019, TFX prides itself on being more like a fitness playground, encouraging you to take pride in both the pain and progress that comes with working out. On top of specially-designed HIIT, cycling, and dance classes, TFX’s mind-body yoga sessions range from Stress Management Yoga (to reduce tress and tension) to their 3-in-1 pilates, yoga and functional training, OXIGENO. Their new outdoor workout sessions can be booked through their app, GFX, and are priced from S$10 per person.

Urban Yogis

Urban Yogis has always been about seeking a natural environment to complement the practice of yoga. Urban Yogis weekly yoga classes are all offered outdoors, with options to spend Monday evenings down by Bedok Reservoir and Tuesdays & Thursdays at the MBS Boardwalk in front of the city skyline. If you like quieter spaces to stretch and meditate, their Robertson Quay outdoor yoga classes are available on Wednesday mornings – start the day with quiet nature in a cozy neighbourhood and a nice stretch sesh.

HIIT

Bespoke Fitness

Bespoke Fitness uses HIIT classes to improve on four aspects: speed, strength, stamina and shape. And it’s not for the faint or heart – their signature FitRX is a 60min high intensity training class that encompasses a warm-up, strength and conditioning weight training, finished by the workout-of-the-day, with each day a different body part focus. You can book sessions through their Bespoke Fitness app and choose a Drop-in FitRX Class (S$25) or sign up for membership (S$150 per month)

Level

If you’re not a fitness-freak, but still want to get your daily workout in, Level Singapore is the gym to go to. At Level, their mantra is “there are no shortcuts; the journey is long,” but their trainers understand you have a life outside of working out. Their new outdoor classes are held at Marina Bay, Fort Canning and outside their Telok Ayer Studio, with intensive training programs like Outdoor Spartan, or more everyday workouts such as Outdoor Skill. New clients can purchase the Starter Pack (S$45 for three classes).

R10T

True to their name, R10T’s is known for their ‘one life, zero excuses’ principle, offering an impressive gym equipped with yoga and HIIT facilities, and its own lap pool. Now that indoor workouts are restricted, their new #R10TOUT is the gym’s open air concept, which will be held on the outdoor terrace at Robinson Road. This new outdoor workout sessions will offer both their R1DE and HYBR1D workout concepts – calming yoga over sunset views, or an intense HIIT workout. #R10T Drop-ins start from S$30 and Class Packs start at S$120.

Spin Cycle

Aurora Spin Studio

Let’s be real – the most enjoyable part about spin cycle is the music. Aurora Spin Studio knows this, and boy, do they take it seriously with their dark rooms, strobe lights and sick playlists. Now, Aurora is reintroducing their concept to the outdoors. Turn up the music, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy spin cycle classes outside their South Beach Quarter studio. Aurora’s new outdoor classes are priced at S$150 for the 10 Credit Pack, or simply purchase a single class (S$20).

XYCO

Located across from Yoga Movement, XYCO gives off a relaxed and fun feel to your spin classes. We’ll miss their casual and clean studio for now, but you can still go to XYCO’s new outdoor spin classes, offered on their patio. So enjoy a 40 minute spin cycle class in the cooling outdoor breeze, with music blasting from individual headphones, provided by XYCO. Outdoor Single Classes are priced at S$28 and Outdoor – 4 classes are priced at S$100.
